This was fun and makes you think about shutter speed and aperture. I did some moving cars with blurred background at the Gratiot cruise and a couple stop action of moving objects.
The moving cars was hard to do without the tripod. I took a lot of pictures to get these few sharp shots. Most were done at 1/30sec. At 1/30 it's hard to do a still subject handheld. I basically tried to get the background and wheels blurred with the subject sharp

Hi Burr,
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean by taking a lot of shots to get a few good ones. Looks like you got what you were going for in #2. I like #6 because you can tell the kerosene was moving, though it sounds like a bad idea !! I also like #7, seeing the dusting kicking up. BTW the vehicles were great to see ! Thanks.
Hi Burr, Great shots and they're all superb, my favorites are #5, and #6. on #5 all the colors and composition and the smile on his face is perfect, What talent to have all the settings perfect for #6, I know I'd have missed this shot! You really know how to make the camera work for you!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work! You were able to get just what you were going for. LOL - oh yeah, I know all about taking tons of shots to get perhaps 1 or 2!! As Joanne said - you really DO know how to make the camera work for you. I humbly come with goals for improvement!! :-)
ReplyDeleteMy fave is #7...the action of the dirt movement is awesome.
Some amazing shots Burr, I see you and were after the same things at the cruise that day but I must say you had better results, I should have followed you....lol I love that water shot too...you nailed the shutter and aperature things......
